There are three things that we love to do at Wafrique: dancing to great music, eating good food and meeting new people. We are privy to, and participating in, some great activities in the next few days which allow us to experience our favorite pass times.

This Thursday, February 24th, come and enjoy some sumptuous samosas, plantains and other delicacies prepared by Immy’s African Cuisine and experience beautiful African music videos presented by African Beat at “Step Into Africa”. Treat yourself to a fashion show and meet new people. Wafrique will also start its 3 day sales event with a large inventory of clothing and accessories up to 60% off. The event starts at 6 pm and entrance is free from 330 E. Mason Street.

For those who like to dance salsa like we do, Carnival Milwaukee promises a night of fun dancing and good food with the featured Congolese musician Ricardo Lemvo & Makina Loca on Saturday, March 5 at 7 pm. As co-sponsor of the event Wafrique is raffling a free ticket; all purchases over $40 are eligible for the raffle. Get your colorful print and swanky outfit from us.

And for more good food and great music, join the women of the world as we celebrate International Women’s Day at the Cousins Center, 3501 South Lake Dr. on Tuesday, March 8 from 6 pm. Listen to Sr. Ann Scholz, SSND, PhD discuss the impact that women have made in the community and pray for all women.

We’d love to see you and hear from you. Send us your comments.
